About Wheelchair Racer
Empowering wheelchair racers worldwide with accessible resources, community connections, and data-driven insights.
Our Mission
To create the world most comprehensive platform for wheelchair racing, providing athletes with the tools, information, and community support they need to achieve their racing goals and push the boundaries of what is possible.
Our Story
Wheelchair Racer started in October 2025, born from personal frustration with the lack of accessible parkrun course information. As a wheelchair racer, finding suitable courses meant endless research, uncertainty, and often disappointment when arriving at a location only to discover it wasn't suitable for wheelchair racing. There had to be a better way.
So I built the platform I wished existed — starting with comprehensive accessibility analysis of all 2,747 parkrun events worldwide. We don't just track basic distance and terrain; we analyze the details that matter: camber angles that affect stability, surface quality that impacts performance, corner geometry, elevation changes, width for maneuvering, and barrier placement. Every factor that influences a wheelchair racer's experience is documented.
What began as a personal project is now growing into a complete resource for the wheelchair racing community. We've expanded beyond parkrun to include other racing events, and we're building training plans, community forums, and tools to help athletes connect, compete, and celebrate their achievements.
We are just getting started. Each month brings new features, deeper analysis, and more tools to help every athlete find their perfect race and reach their potential. Our vision is to remove the barriers to participation and create a world where wheelchair athletes can race with complete confidence and full accessibility information.
